INFRASTRUCTURE & CAPACITY BUILDING
BWPC leverages its understanding of the local context, deep connections with decision-makers, and knowledge of the forums to influence and expand opportunities for equitable and culturally congruent policies and programs.
BWPC provides technical assistance to design, develop and implement infrastructure solutions in response to community needs.
AFRICAN AMERICAN COALITION
A multi-community-based organization impact framework model developed to (1) coordinate resources across Fresno, (2) to support human services, (3) economic development, and (4) rapid response efforts.
A social enterprise designed to (1) serve as the backbone infrastructure for Fresno's Black Maternal Child Health workforce, (2) provide operational support for contracting, billing, and reimbursement for doulas, and (3) establish and promote Standards of Care, quality indicator and clinical navigation tools for providers and clients.
In preparation for the Medi-Cal reimbursement shift to support doulas, BWPC helps prepare licensed providers for the integration of doulas into the payor and hospital sphere.
In the first phase of this initiative, we gather provider experiences and questions about doulas. In the second phase, we use these insights to design resources and a training module focusing on critical information.

Our training for licensed clinical providers will be available in March 2023.
Evaluation Plan Support:
For the second year in a row, a BWPC initiative has been matched with a student team for the UC Berkeley PH218B Evaluation for Health and Social Programs course held by Julianna Deardorff, PhD to develop an evaluation plan. The team of 4 provided support for the evaluation needs of provider engagement.
